With an intimate group of no more than fourteen writers, you'll learn craft tips and publishing secrets from Beth and Cristin in a series of morning workshops and meet with each author one-on-one for a critique of your current manuscript. Beth focuses on the big picture, examining your structure and plot via a synopsis and helping you troubleshoot problem areas, while Cristin gets into the nitty-gritty of your first 3,000 words, offering tips to refine things like characterization, voice, and style. Together this gives you a holistic overview of your work. Have more questions or need further advice during the week? No problem, because you'll be eating, writing and hanging out alongside the authors everyday, and they are always happy to help.

After the morning dedicated to learning, your afternoons are free for you to get some serious words in. Grab a lounge chair by the pool or spread out on a couch and get to work! Need to take a break? Grab a new friend for a game of pool or watch a movie in the home theater. After a delicious dinner made by our private chef, get some more writing done, go for a swim in the heated pool, or join a fierce group game of Mafia over freshly-baked cookies.

Normally we'd head home on Sunday, but for a small extra fee, extend your stay and join us on an excursion to Star Wars Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Adventure! While we wait in line for rides or Dole Whips, we can discuss Jung's "hero's journey" as epitomized by A New Hope or dissect the failures of The Rise of Skywalker, so TECHNICALLY we're still working!
