About this Retreat
The Revision & Refinement Retreat is the sister to our spring Fast Drafting retreat (although you do not need to have attended in the spring to join us). You've got the words, and now it's time to tune out the world and make them shine!

The retreat begins before you even leave home. New York Times-bestseller and revision ninja Beth Revis will lead an online workshop, and you'll be split into small critique groups who will read a significant portion of each other's manuscripts so that you can provide each other feedback and support during the retreat.
You'll then have one-on-one Zoom meetings with both Beth and Cristin, who is a certified life coach in addition to being an author, to discuss whatever areas you're looking for guidance with. Plot structure giving you trouble? Beth will help you brainstorm a solution and send you off with the perfect worksheet to make your plot even more exciting. Character arc not coming together, or struggling to tame your procrastination beast so that you can actually get your draft written? Cristin's got your back. By the time your suitcase is packed, you'll have gotten to know your fellow retreaters and will have a plan for what to tackle during the retreat.

Once you're at the ranch, the bulk of your time will be free for writing, but we'll also do some plot and character refreshers and hold fun and affirming roundtable critiques. Beth and Cristin will also be available anytime you need some one-on-one help or to hold an impromptu discussion about elements of craft or the business of publishing.

By the time the last s'more has been roasted and we're all ready to leave the ranch, you should have a solid revision plan, new words under your belt, and a bunch of new writing friends!

WHERE IT IS:

El Rancho Mas is a beautiful and private sixteen acre property in Wimberley, TX, just forty-five minutes from the international airport in Austin. The extensive grounds include a pool, hot tub, air-conditioned party barn, meditation garden, and numerous cozy nooks both indoors and outdoors for settling in and getting to work. The ranch is home to literary support pups Minnie Pearl and Dolly Parton, who love the pets but can also be kept separate from you if you have allergies or any other issue.
